ABOUT OUR BOARDING AND GROOMING FACILITY

The Hocking College Canine Boarding and Grooming Facility is the perfect place to bring your furry friend for a head-to-paw experience that will leave them ready to impress their furry friends at the dog park. All of our guests receive care and supervision from a licensed veterinary technician, certified groomer and certified CPDT-KA dog trainer with more than 30 years of experience. The facility also serves as a live learning lab for our Canine Assisted Services  and canine certificate students. All students working in this facility have completed  course work, including Animal Grooming and Styling I,  Pet First Aid, and are supervised by the facility's professional experienced staff. Our grooming and boarding services are available to dogs and cats.

 

We're open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Weekend drop off and pick up times are by appointment only.

MEET OUR AWESOME TEAM

Cynthia Conner
CPDT-KA, CG, LVT, VTNS, Pet First Aid Instructor, AKC -CGC Evaluator Canine Program and Facility Manager

Cynthia Conner is our Canine Program and Facility Manager, she is a Licenced Veterinary Technician with over 30 years experience in Veterinary Medicine, Grooming, and Training. She is a member of The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, The Association of Professional Dog Trainers, Certified with the National Dog Groomers Association of America  and  the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA).  She is also an AKC CGC Evaluator.  She believes that all pets deserve the best in health and wellness. She also believes that the key to the best experience and good service for pets and owners, should be done with the least amount of stress possible. She has spent her entire life working with animals in all capacities and always treats animals as if they were her own Fur Babies.

ABOUT OUR CANINE ASSISTED SERVICES PROGRAM

This 2-year program enables you to become employed as a Certified  Groomer or Trainer, Boarding, Shelter or Rescue work as well as pet sitting, dog walking, or a professional handler/breeder.  It gives you the foundation to pursue work in a thriving industry. The Associate of Applied Science in Canine Assisted Services at Hocking include majors in Equine and Canine. The college also offers short-term certificates in Canine Training and Pet Grooming as well as Equine certificates.

The curriculum is designed with a common core of coursework providing interdisciplinary educational elements critical for student success in the field as Certified Canine Professionals. During the second year, students concentrate their studies on advanced canine training for assistance or service work to prepare them for their intended career pathway.
